Enterprise Center Starts 2016 Off Strong

Salem, MA – Get ready for a great business year at the Enterprise Center. From the North of Boston Business Plan Competition to new CEO peer groups, webinars, audiocasts and a rich mix of workshops, there’s something for everyone starting this January.

Enterprise Center programs are a great way to begin thinking about starting a business, learning about solutions to issues all businesses face, and staying abreast of the latest business trends. For new entrepreneurs, those with a business less than three years old or an established business with a growth plan, the 2016 North of Boston Business Plan Competition is a fabulous way to fine tune your business strategy and get feedback from the regional business experts who serve as judges.

Four new CEO groups will also start in January, offering business owners a confidential, facilitated opportunity to share concerns and advice with their peers. The groups are for established businesses (at least three years old), family-owned businesses, companies with revenues of $1 million or more, and a minority-owned business group, which will have a bilingual facilitator.

The Enterprise Center is known for working with businesses through all the lifecycles and is perhaps best known for its wide range of workshops, most of which are free. The business basics, from how to fund your business, improve your customer service, or polish up your sales skills, are well represented, along with new topics like sustainability and competitive intelligence. The growing importance of internet marketing has given rise to more and more tech-oriented workshops; this semester the Enterprise Center is offering a special three-workshop series on SEO and social media strategies.

There are other programs as well, including a new series of human resources webinars and a host of both in-person and online professional education offerings. All in all, it may be cold outside, but winter 2016 will be hot at the Enterprise Center.

The Enterprise Center at Salem State University actively drives regional business through education, leadership, advocacy, community, and economic development on the North Shore. It serves business owners, leaders and employees of companies of all sizes, in all industries and all stages of the business lifecycle. The Center is located at 121 Loring Avenue, Salem.
