Watertown, MA – MassEcon will celebrate Massachusetts companies that have responded in exceptional ways to the tremendous challenges caused by the global COVID-19 pandemic at its 17th Annual Team Massachusetts Economic Impact Awards – Celebrating 2020’s Corporate Heroes event, presented by Citizens Bank.
To be nominated as a 2020 Corporate Hero, companies must be headquartered in, or have primary operations in, Massachusetts. When challenged by the onset of the COVID-19 crisis, the company has responded in at least one of the following ways:
- Meet a need in battling the COVID-19 virus with a product or service
- Meet the needs of its community and the Commonwealth through extraordinary charitable actions
- Meet the needs of its employees through extraordinary efforts to sustain their employment under adverse business circumstances caused by the pandemic
Nominations can be submitted through July 31. A team of judges comprised of business and community leaders will evaluate the nominees based on the special 2020 requirements, as well as other criteria including company diversity and inclusion strengths and past commitments to growth in Massachusetts. The winners will be honored on November 24 at the 17th Annual Team Massachusetts Economic Impact Awards virtual event ceremony.
MassEcon is the state’s private sector partner in promoting business growth in Massachusetts. This year’s awardees, from every region of the state, will reflect the spirit of Massachusetts businesses to solve problems, serve their communities, and provide for the livelihoods of their workers in the midst of the global public health and economic crisis.
