Donation Helps NeighborWorks Expand COVID-19 Services

Brockton, MA – With the COVID-19 pandemic exacerbating the financial state of many individuals and families, NeighborWorks Housing Solutions, a housing service provider in southern Massachusetts, recently received a donation of $10,000 from HarborOne Bank to continue and expand providing crucial services to assist those in the Brockton community.

The donation to NHS will help address the needs of individuals and families in the Brockton community who have been directly affected by COVID-19 with their provided services.

Among the services NHS provides is administration of the state’s Rental Assistance to Families in Transition (RAFT) financial assistance program. This program helps eligible homeowners and renters by assisting with back mortgage payments, rent, utility bills, and other costs to prevent foreclosure or eviction.

NHS continues to offer first-time home buyer classes (which are now online and free of charge), foreclosure counseling as well as landlord services, financial counseling, rental assistance, and other housing resources to those in need of help as well.

NHS also recently established a Housing Hotline (781-422-4208) for individuals or families with questions regarding evictions or foreclosures.  All call lines offer assistance in multiple languages. In addition to the monetary donation, HarborOne Bank is also leveraging the support of its staff to help address the increase of calls and support requests.
