Portsmouth, NH – DeStefano Architects PLLC, a Portsmouth, N.H.-based architectural design firm, recently announced the promotion of Robert Harbeson, AIA, to commercial studio manager.

Robert joined DeStefano Architects in 2003. Since joining, Rob has been a valuable asset in design and management of the firm’s commercial projects. In downtown Portsmouth, Rob was involved in restaurant renovation at 96 State Street, the redevelopment at 111 Maplewood Avenue, and the residential construction at 10 State Street. Across the seacoast, Rob managed the renovation project at Abenaqui Country Clubhouse in Rye and two major projects at the Pease Tradeport: Medtronics (formerly Salient Surgical), and the main facility of Great Bay Kids Company. Rob is currently working on a campus repositioning project in Duxbury, Massachusetts.

Rob is a registered architect in the state of New Hampshire and holds a Master of Architecture from the University of Maryland and a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering with a minor in art history from the University of Delaware. He is the vice chair for the board of directors for Great Bay Kids Company, the treasurer on the board of directors for Area Home Care and Family Services, and an active member of the New Hampshire Lodging and Restaurant Association.

In speaking with Lisa DeStefano, principal architect, about his promotion, she said: “In Robert’s 11-plus years with DeStefano Architects, he has contributed to the tremendous reputation the firm has within the community, and his high standards and industry knowledge provide benefit to new staff and the firm as a whole.”
