Deerfield Academy’s Fieldhouse Achieves LEED Gold Certification

Deerfield, MA – Skanska, a global construction and development firm, recently announced that Deerfield Academy’s new fieldhouse has achieved LEED Gold certification. Regarded for its impressive architecture and design by Sasaki, the complex also recently received the Honor Award for Excellence in Architecture from AIA New England.

In line with Skanska’s staunch commitment to environmental sustainability, the construction team took proactive steps to minimize construction pollution from affecting the surrounding area, reduce water usage, optimize energy performance, and maximize open space while building the new, $52 million, 135,998sf state-of-the-art facility for Deerfield Academy.

Completed in winter 2018, the facility ensures all the school’s students and aspiring athletes are provided with a best-in-class facility for exercising and training for interscholastic and recreational programs. It includes a brand-new ice rink, new locker rooms, sports offices, a crew tank room, a tennis court, elevated jogging track, group exercise rooms, batting cages, a golf simulator and lounge.
