It can be challenging to plan on when to take the CPSM Exam and when to study for it. To make the process easier, SMPS National has updated the testing process with clear deadlines.
Effective now, the CPSM testing format has changed from the current on-demand continuous testing process (i.e., take the test any time you want) to a two-windows-per-year/three-week testing cycle. The testing windows are the dates during which the exam is administered by Professional Testing Corporation (PTC), and the exam windows will be open in March and September every year.
For 2022, the testing windows will be March 5 – 26 and Sept. 3 – 24. Once candidates apply and receive their scheduling authorization from PTC, they may choose their testing window.

CPSM Study Group
To align with the new testing windows, the Boston chapter will now offer two study groups a year, one in the spring and one in the fall. In the spring, a CPSM Information Session will be held in March, with the study group starting in April. In the fall, a CPSM Information Session will be held in early September, with the study group starting in late September. Upcoming study group dates will be posted on the SMPS Boston events page. Download the new SMPS CPSM StudyGuide v 3.2 to help prepare for the exam.
