Cooney Joins Nickerson as Dir of Social Media and Emerging Technology

Boston – Nickerson, a full-service communications agency with offices in Boston, New York and Miami, recently announced that Matthew Cooney has joined the team with a focus on leveraging cutting-edge technology to develop fully immersive and engaging marketing strategies. As the Director of Social Media and Emerging Technology, Cooney will create and implement creative social media strategies for Nickerson’s diverse portfolio of clients, as well as lead the firm’s efforts in leveraging new and emerging technologies to the benefit of client branding and business goals.

In his new role, Cooney will be responsible for the development and implementation of multi-platform social media programs tailored to Nickerson’s various clients and respective target audiences. He will also develop strategies and programs to utilize new and emerging technologies in creative formats to further the reach and impact of campaigns.

Cooney has over seven years of experience managing social media and leading internal and external teams globally with demonstrated success in growing audience and engagement. Most recently, Cooney held the position of principal product manager at Dell EMC. Prior to joining Dell EMC, he managed the launch of the enterprise-wide social media presence for Blue Cross Blue Shield and managed social media for organizations including iRobot, Monster, and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (M.I.T.).
