Construction on Brockton Development Reaches Halfway Point

Robert Corley, CEO of NeighborWorks Housing Solutions, and mayor of Brockton, Robert F. Sullivan

Brockton, MA – NeighborWorks Housing Solutions, a housing service provider in southern Massachusetts, recently hosted a “Tour on the Terrace” at the organization’s latest development in downtown Brockton, Sycamore on Main.

Construction is halfway done on the new mixed-use, Enterprise Green Community-Certified building, which will feature modern residences and 2,600sf of first-floor retail space.

During the event, NHS took the opportunity to recognize the team who continued to work on the project.  The construction team has been working daily through the duration of the pandemic and has reported zero cases of COVID-19.  The work team followed, and continues to follow, strict guidelines including daily temperature checks and self-certification protocols. The city of Brockton has also been instrumental in ensuring construction projects continued during the spring and summer.

Local business and civic leaders were in attendance, as was Brockton mayor, Robert F. Sullivan, who addressed the group and thanked everyone involved for investing in the future of Brockton.

Sycamore on Main will bring 48 units of affordable housing to downtown Brockton and will feature mixed-use retail or restaurant space on the ground floor and one- and two-bedroom apartments on the four floors above.  This new development is expected to be completed and occupied by mid-2021 and is one of several exciting new developments in downtown Brockton.
