Connecticut Chapter of ASLA Announces Design Award Winners

The Connecticut Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects (CTASLA) has announced the winners of its annual Connecticut Design Awards competition. CTASLA conducts the Connecticut Design Awards each year to recognize excellence in landscape architectural design, planning and analysis, communication and research. To be eligible, an applicant must be a licensed landscape architect in the state of Connecticut, and the entrant or project location must be based in Connecticut.

The Connecticut Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects (CTASLA) has announced the winners of its annual Connecticut Design Awards competition. CTASLA conducts the Connecticut Design Awards each year to recognize excellence in landscape architectural design, planning and analysis, communication and research. An exhibit of these award-winning projects, as well as the contributions of other landscape architects to the built environment in Connecticut, will be on display in the Legislative Office Building (lower concourse) in Hartford from May 18-29.

Winners of this year’s Connecticut Design Awards competition include:

Richard Bergmann Architects (New Canaan), Award of Excellence in the Design/Built Work category, for “A River Runs Through It” (Southwestern CT)

Devore Associates (Fairfield), Honor Award in the Design/Built Works category, for “An Estate in Westchester” (Bedford Hills, NY)

LADA, P.C. (Simsbury), Honor Award in the Design/Built Work category for “Central Connecticut State University – New Pedestrian Core” (New Britain, CT)

Didona Associates Landscape Architects, LLC (Danbury), Honor Award in the Planning and Analysis category for “Wooster School Beautification Plan” (Danbury, CT)

Heritage Landscapes, Preservation Landscape Archeticts and Planners (Norwalk), Honor Award in the Research category for “The New York Botanical Garden Cultural Landscape Report: Landscape History” (Bronx, NY)

Towers|Golde LLC (New Haven), Merit Award in the Design/Built Work category for “Fairfield University – Residential Quadrangle Revitalization” (Fairfield, CT)

Wesley Stout Associates (New Canaan), Merit Award in the Design/Built Work category for “Simply Green” (Wilton, CT)

Artemis Landscape Architects, LLC (Brookfield), Merit Award in the Design/Built Work category for “Private Residence in Litchfield Hills” (Washington, CT)

Artemis Landscape Architects, LLC (Brookfield), Merit Award in the Communications category for “Sol Environment” (marketing package)

LADA, P.C. (Simsbury), Merit Award in the Planning and Analysis category for “City of Middletown Farmland Viability Report” (Middletown, CT)

Tavella Design Group, LLC (Orange), Merit Award in the Planning and Analysis category for “Oyster Shell Park Master Plan” (Norwalk, CT)

Didona Associates Landscape Architects, LLC (Danbury), Merit Award in the Planning and Analysis category for “Stanley Lasker Richter Memorial Park Master Plan” (Danbury, CT)

The jury for this year’s competition was comprised of members of the Wisconsin Chapter of ASLA.
