Construction Begins on Collings Foundation’s American Heritage Museum

Maynard, MA – JM Coull (JMC), along with ahp Architects, has started construction on the Collings Foundation’s American Heritage Museum located in Stow, MA. Nestled in 70 acres of plush greenery, the new 65,000 sf institution will be dedicated to military history throughout the 20th century.

Established in 1979, the Collings Foundation’s goal is to enable visitors to learn about the country’s heritage through “living history” events and interaction with historical artifacts. The new museum will be home to a number of exhibits from the country’s past military conflicts, and will house the United States’ largest private collection of vehicles from these events.

“We’re very excited to have finally begun work on this historical project,” comments Project Manager John McDermott. “We have been working with the Collings Foundation for quite a while now throughout the project’s planning, design, and permitting phases, and it’s fantastic to be able to start putting shovels in the ground. The foundation’s vision for this museum reflects its overall mission of providing an interactive education on our country’s war history, as well as continuing to honor and support US veterans.”
