Manchester, NH – On Tuesday, October 11, March of Dimes will host a special night of giving to improve the quality of life for New Hampshire mothers and their babies.  The evening will feature local culinary talent serving signature dishes at Manchester Country Club, along with exclusive, exciting custom-created live and silent auction packages.

As  returning presenting sponsor, Children’s Hospital at Dartmouth-Hitchcock (CHaD), knows all too well, premature birth is the most serious infant health problem in the United States today. Worldwide over 15 million babies are born premature each year, including 1 in 10 births in New Hampshire. Babies born too soon are more likely to die or have lifelong disabilities. The March of Dimes is committed to reversing this trend by funding research to find the causes of premature birth and developing strategies to prevent it.

“We are delighted to partner with the March of Dimes in the quest to prevent premature birth and its long term health impact. While we have continued to make progress, many critical challenges still remain and the impact on the lives of children and families is enormous. This important event offers a wonderful opportunity for people to help win this important battle,” notes Dr. Steven Ringer, Chief of Neonatology of Children’s Hospital at Dartmouth-Hitchcock’s Intensive Care Nursery.
