Callahan took home the Safety, Green and Eagle Award, representing the pinnacle of achievement, for its work on Alnoba, a 13,920sf retreat destination for individuals, groups and organizations that combines historic New England craftsmanship with state-of-the-art energy efficiency. It is the first building of its kind in New England to earn “Passive House” certification for energy efficiency.

The project incorporated reclaimed timber frames from the early 1900’s and those that were designed based on traditional timber framing that was common in early 19th century New England.
The Massachusetts Chapter of Associated Builders and Contractors is the largest construction trade association in the Commonwealth, representing some 400 local general contractor, subcontractor, and supplier and associate companies.  These companies employ more than 20,000 workers throughout Massachusetts.
