BTEA Gears Up for Building Trades Recovery Week

Boston – Building Trades Employers’ Organization (BTEA) is expecting a large turnout for the Building Trades Recovery Week, which is happening from April 29 to May 3. Thomas S. Gunning, the membership coordinator of BTEA, and John Ferrante, the associate executive director, are the organizers behind the week-long event.

Recognized by the commonwealth of Massachusetts and the city of Boston, this first-of-its-kind event will allow labor and management to come together to raise awareness about substance abuse in the construction industry. Attendees will learn about how to address addiction and support recovery for our employees and fellow coworkers.

News of this week has spread fast. Individuals from OSHA’s national office are expected to attend. Speakers include John Christian of Modern Assistance Programs Inc., Frank Callahan from the Massachusetts Building Trades Council, Dr. Gregory Acampora of MGH and Harvard, Boston Mayor Marty Walsh, and former Celtic Chris Herren.
