Boston – Redgate recently announced that former Mass. Housing and Economic Development Secretary Greg Bialecki has joined the firm as executive vice president.
Redgate is a multifaceted real estate advisory, development, project management, and investment firm that includes the residential company Gate Residential Properties, LLC. In his new role at Redgate, Bialecki will lead business development efforts and the creation and launch of Gate Residential Fund I, a new multifamily residential investment fund.
“Greg is extremely skilled in a wide range of economic and real estate development opportunities, and we are thrilled to welcome him to our team,” said Kyle Warwick, a principal at Redgate. “In his new role Greg will take the lead in the development and launch of a new Gate Residential fund. His unique vision and expertise in transit-oriented, urban development will be a tremendous asset as we continue to grow and serve our partners and investors.”
Gate Residential has developed a number of successful and high-profile transit-oriented projects in the Boston area during the past several years — including Maxwell’s Green, a 184-unit community located near Davis Square in Somerville, and One North of Boston PH I & II, a 452-unit development in Chelsea.
In addition, Gate Residential has broken ground on their first phase, 169-unit residential and commercial project in Quincy Center. Gate Residential plans to commence construction on their ultra-luxury boutique condo development in Boston’s Fort Point Channel district by this summer.

Bialecki most recently served as the Mass. Secretary of Housing and Economic Development under Governor Patrick from 2009 to 2015. In that role he was the governor’s chief advisor on critical issues such as jobs, housing, and the economy.
During that time, Bialecki also led numerous initiatives to promote the state’s innovation economy and to support transit-oriented, mixed-used real estate development. He was also responsible for the management and oversight of 12 state agencies with more than 800 employees and an annual budget of over $400 million.
Bialecki previously served as the undersecretary of business development and spent 20 years as a real estate, business and environmental attorney with Hill & Barlow and DLA Piper, specializing in urban development. Bialecki is a graduate of Harvard College and Harvard Law School. He currently resides in Newton, Massachusetts.
