BE+ Green Building Showcase Returns to Boston

Boston – After missing 2020 due to COVID-19, the annual Green Building Showcase celebration and awards program, hosted by Built Environment Plus (BE+), will be held on Oct. 21 and will showcase the leading projects advancing the sustainability of the built environment across Massachusetts.

Held at the Charles River Speedway, an example of adaptive reuse and historic preservation, the event will demonstrate a deepened commitment by both Boston and Massachusetts to lead the nation in tackling pressing challenges like climate change, human health, and environmental degradation through the powerful focal point of the built environment.

An awards ceremony will highlight the Green Building of the Year, Green Home of the Year, and a number of category leader awards featuring some of the most innovative and outstanding projects in the field. Much of the project team for the Speedway revitalization will be on hand, led by Bruner/Cott Architects.

Six projects are contending for this year’s top award including the Lowell Justice Center, Eastham Public Library, Saugus Middle High School, Rockwell Integrated Sciences Center, Hitchcock Center for the Environment, and Harvard University’s Science and Engineering Complex. This year’s winner will be made public at the event and posted on BE+ website by the next day.
