Cambridge, MA – The head Of The Charles Regatta recently announced that it has entered into a partnership with Alexandria Real Estate Equities, Inc., that will serve as a Premier Sponsor of the 54th Regatta in October 2018.
Through its sponsorship, Alexandria will support a “learn to row” for children the Thursday before the Regatta. West End House, of Brighton is a youth development agency that provides outcomes-driven programs to more than 1,700 youth residing in the most underserved communities in the city of Boston.
With this partnership, Alexandria and HOCR will be collaborating with Community Rowing to use their equipment, while coaching will come from a variety of international Olympians who will be racing during the Head Of The Charles. The program will provide Allston-Brighton kids with an opportunity to row on the Charles themselves.
Alexandria’s sponsorship of the Regatta will help preserve the event’s mission to provide a world-class competition to rowers of all abilities. The 54th Regatta, scheduled this year for October 20 and 21, is expected to attract almost 11,000 competitors and over 400,000 spectators. The event is free and is accessible to view from any bridge or along the shoreline of the three-mile course.
