Annual Event Supports Homeless Veterans

Bedford, MA – Residents of Bedford Green Apartments and Howard Apartments, permanent supportive housing communities for formerly homeless or at risk homeless veterans managed by Peabody Properties, recently participated in the 12th Annual Veterans Administration’s VA2K Walk & Roll.

Held on May 18, residents and staff from Bedford Green Apartments and Howard Apartments took part in the national event, held at most of the VA campuses across the nation. Howard Apartments is located on the grounds of the Brockton Veterans Administration Center in Brockton. Bedford Green Apartments sit on the campus of the VA’s Edith Nourse Rogers Memorial Medical Center in Bedford.

The VA2K encourages people to live active lifestyles and allows participants to support homeless veterans through voluntary donations of food and clothing items. The annual event often includes a 1.24 mile walk.

“The weather was fine, and spirits were high during this special annual event,” said Jacquelyn Cope, senior resident services manager with Peabody Properties. “We applaud the many residents and staff members who came out to support the far too many homeless veterans of this nation.”
