AGC MA Donates to Madison Technical High School

Wellesley, MA – On Oct. 28, 2021 the Associated General Contractors of Massachusetts (AGC MA) in collaboration with Milwaukee Tool, donated a variety of high-quality carpentry tools and safety equipment valued at more than $15,000 to Madison Park Technical Vocational High School (MPTVHS).

To celebrate the donation AGC MA hosted a luncheon at Madison Park with guest speakers John Herald, MPTVHS vocational director; John Ferrante, AGC MA CEO; and Robert LePage, assistant secretary for career education, DOE. In attendance were Dr. Sidney Brown, new head of school for MPTVHS and Alison Stanton, vice president community & citizenship at Turner Construction Company, along with all 40 carpentry students.

A grant from the union carpenter, laborer, and cement mason employers through the Massachusetts Construction Advancement Program (MCAP) allowed the AGC MA in August to introduce a group of seven educators to the commercial construction industry during a summer externship program, including Perino Watson, vocational teacher from Madison Park and the excess grant funding helped organize this donation to support the students at MPTVHS.

In addition, AGC MA member, Turner Construction Company, recently invited the MPTVHS carpentry students on multiple returning jobsite field trips to a construction project in the Seaport District. With Milwaukee’s donation and by facilitating ongoing engagement between members and local schools, AGC MA is confident this effort will inspire the next generation of tradespeople and construction managers.
