Acentech Wrap Up for 2019

Cambridge, MA – In 2019, Acentech announced new hires, promotions and awards.

Three new hires include Chris Hornsby, who recently joined Acentech as an IT and security consultant at its Cambridge headquarters; Anthony DeMarte, a new member of Acentech’s architectural acoustics group in Philadelphia; and Khaleela Zaman, who joined the architectural acoustics group in Cambridge.

In other personnel news, Jack Briskie, a recent addition to Acentech’s noise and vibration group, received his professional engineer license in mechanical engineering; Kristen Murphy, LEED AP BD+C, WELL AP, senior consultant, earned WELL accreditation; and Marc Newmark was promoted to director of Acentech’s noise and vibration group.

Staff members were recognized at the most recent Institute of Noise Control Engineering (INCE) meetings. Principal consultant Eric Wood was elected fellow of the Institute by the INCE board of directors and Michael Bahtiarian was elected to become INCE’s executive VP/president-elect.

At INCE’s Noise-Con 2019 in San Diego, Wood received the distinguished service medal; Andy Carballeira, senior consultant, was recognized; Jim Barnes and Peter Beiter presented Trends in Managing Industrial Worker Noise Exposure; and Bahtiarian presented a paper titled “Can Digital Newspapers Save the Pressman’s Hearing?”
