2018 Visionaries Forum Announced

Hartford, CT – The Construction Institute of the University of Hartford recently announced the Visionary speakers for the 2018 Annual Visionaries Forum. This forum celebrates innovation during an event that draws together pioneers who are shaping the future of design, construction, and management for the AEC industry.

This is a premier event for architects, engineers, contractors, subcontractors, owners/operators (AECO), lawyers, accountants, and other professionals in the industry. It will be held Thursday, May 17, at the Spotlight Theater in Hartford from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., with a reception following the event.

Gregory Sauter, founder of Smart City Works and president and CEO of Crossroads Advisory, will moderate the Visionaries Forum. Sauter has been part of the engineering and construction industry for more than 30 years, including 15 years at AECON as executive vice president and chief corporate officer.

The 9th Annual Visionaries Forum will include:

  • Sudhi Bangalore, vice president, Industry 4.0, Stanley Black and Decker. Bangalore manages the company’s Advanced Manufacturing Center of Excellencem focusing on automation efforts and technologies.
  • Chris Mayer, executive VP and CIO, Suffolk Construction Company. Mayer oversees the innovation initiatives of the firm to provide safer, higher quality, and affordable buildings.
  • Holly McNamara, civil engineer, project manager, selectman, town of Somerset, Massachusetts. Selectman McNamara also formed Hyperloop Massachusetts, which has found success as a semifinalist in the Hyperloop One Global Challenge.
  • Marijke Smit, senior vice president, Business Development, Project Frog. Smit has a long history of redevelopment to create healthy and sustainable buildings and has also served as director of planning of the consulting think tank MKThink.
