Putnam Refectory Dining Hall Renovations

Storrs, Conn – As part of UCONN’s Nex Gen and campus construction program, Amenta Emma Architects is providing full architectural services to modernize, upgrade and expand student dining capacity to the Putnam Refectory on the Storrs campus.  Built in 1969 adjacent to the Hilltop residence halls, the 42,000 sf dining hall structure will undergo a complete renovation of existing servery and seating areas, internal expansion to create increased capacity, and modifications to major building systems.  Currently in the design phase with an overall project budget of $20 mil, construction on the project is scheduled to commence in the spring of 2015 with a late summer 2016 completion date slated to coordinate with the planned opening of the new 750 bed STEM residence hall.
