Boston – AKF Group has announced that David Roberts and Jay Ierardi are now partners at AKF. “These promotions are given in recognition of the extraordinary contributions that Dave and Jay have made in service to our clients and in promoting the continued growth and success of our firm”, said AKF Partner, Brian M. Dave Roberts
Mr. Roberts brings over 27 years of experience to the firm and is the Mechanical Department Head as well as Director of the Quality Assurance/Control program for the healthcare team in AKF’s Boston office. His depth of technical expertise, particularly in controls, steam, and HVAC systems, has earned him the respect of clients and colleagues alike. Dave enjoys interacting with facilities staff and contractors, providing hands-on guidance in the field. Additionally, he spends time mentoring junior engineers in system design, project management and client relations. He is a licensed Engineer in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Maine, Maryland, Ohio, Rhode Island, and Michigan.
James Ierardi
Dr. Ierardi is highly experienced in the fields of fire safety and code consulting for new construction as well as interior renovations, changes in use, and additions to existing buildings in accordance with the applicable state codes to resolve code compliance issues of varying complexity. His expertise also includes computer fire, smoke, and egress modeling for atrium smoke control systems and structural fire resistance analysis. He excels in resolving code-related issues that arise during renovations to existing buildings, and providing solutions for building and fire department officials that meet the intent of the code. Jay was a contributing author of the SFPE Engineering Standard for Calculating Fire Exposure to Structures. He is a licensed Engineer in Massachusetts, and Florida, and holds multiple certifications from ICC, NFPA, IAAI, NAFI and USGBC.
