Boston – Acella Construction Corporation recently oversaw the two-phase renovation of Boston College’s popular Modular Housing Complex.

Sitework on the education project, led by senior project manager Saul Schrader and superintendent Scott Brash, was completed in time for the beginning of the fall semester.

The buildings in the Modular Housing Complex consist of duplexes and quads that are located in the center of BC’s campus. The renovation required new fire protection systems to be retrofitted throughout 44 of the residential units including new piping, sprinkler heads, and necessary fire alarm work.

Dave Dirubbo, president of Acella Construction, said, “We have a great deal of experience working with educational institutions, and we understand that these environmental requirements are sometimes different from the more typical construction job. Timing of the project is crucial so as not to disrupt the school year, and safety is paramount, especially given the number of students these projects impact.”
